Day 1: Amboise
The charming town of Amboise, built on the banks of the Loire and dominated by the Royal Castle, residence of the most important monarchs of France, is the starting point of your tour. Don't miss the opportunity to visit, in addition to the town center and the castle, the manor of Clos Lucé where Leonardo Da Vinci, invited to the court by King Francis I, spent the last three years of his life.

Day 2: Amboise – Montbazon (45 km; +257m)
Following the cycle paths of La Loire à vélo, you will cross the vineyards of Montlouis where famous white wines are produced, including sweet and sparkling varieties. Once you reach the city of Tours, take some time to stroll through the streets of the historic center, not forgetting to visit the beautiful Place Plumereau, a lively square framed by ancient and perfectly preserved typical timber-framed houses. The route then continues through the countryside of Touraine to the next chateau-hotel.

Day 3: Montbazon – Azay le Rideau – Montbazon (55 km; +342m)
After cycling along the picturesque cycle paths of the "Indre à vélo", let yourself be enchanted by its picturesque mills and the characteristic villages that dot the route immersed in the peace of the countryside. Then continue towards Azay le Rideau and its charming Renaissance castle located on an island in the Indre river. This castle, built between 1518 and 1527, has become one of the most famous in the Loire Valley.

Day 4: Montbazon – Chenonceaux (40km; +232m or 60 km; +396m)
Cycling along the winding Indre river, through the vineyards and small typical villages of Touraine, you will reach the Cher Valley and the famous Chenonceau Castle, scenically built right on the Cher river, rich in stories and legends that refer to the times of the dispute between Diana of Poitiers and Catherine de' Medici, respectively lover and wife of King Henry II.

Day 5: Chenonceaux – Cheverny (48 km; +282m)
Leaving the village of Chenonceaux, you will reach the medieval village of Montrichard. The route then continues through the vineyards of Touraine passing the Gué Péan Castle and the medieval village of Fougères sur Bièvre, a perfect representation of 15th-century architectural art. A final beautiful stretch through the countryside and vineyards will allow you to reach the famous Cheverny Castle.

Day 6: Cheverny – Chambord – Cheverny (50 km; +232m)
Today's itinerary will take you to discover the beautiful Sologne. You will first reach the Castle of Villesavin and then cross the magnificent forests and landscapes dotted with ponds typical of the Sologne. You will thus reach the Castle of Chambord, the most scenographic of the Loire castles, an authentic masterpiece of the French Renaissance, built at the behest of Francis I who, despite the 440 rooms of the castle, stayed there for only a few days.

Day 7: Cheverny – Amboise (45 km; +280m)
This last bike stage will take you to the beautiful town of Blois. Take a walk through the picturesque streets of the center where the magnificent castle is also located, a perfect representation of how French architecture evolved between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Then take the La Loire à vélo to reach the Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle with its incredible International Garden Festival. Finally, return to Amboise by cycling along the bike path between the Loire and the vineyards.
