Description

Day 1: Passau
Individual arrival in Passau, known as the city of 3 rivers, where Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet. After settling into the hotel, delivery of bicycles (if rented) and free time to visit the city.

Day 2: Passau - Schlögener Schlinge (40 km)
Your journey starts in Passau, where the magnificent Upper Danube Valley awaits you, a route that will guide you to the surprising Schlögener Schlinge. A moment of tranquility awaits you at Engelhartszell: visit the serene Trappist monastery and indulge in the refined liquors produced by the monks, a taste that tells stories of tradition and dedication. Your adventure then continues towards the Schlögen Bend, the famous bend in the Danube, where the rock forced the river to reverse its direction by 180°.

Day 3: Schlögener Schlinge - Linz (55 km)
Today, you will leave behind the hills wrapped in lush woods and forests, to immerse yourself in the lush region of the Eferdinger basin. This landscape is characterized by its gently rolling hills, which harmoniously alternate with picturesque villages. Your day concludes in Linz, the vibrant capital of Upper Austria. The ancient heart of the city welcomes you with a mosaic of historical monuments, imposing churches, culture-rich museums, and elegant buildings.

Day 4: Linz - Grein (60 km)
Today's stage will take you to discover Linz and then Strudengau. You will then resume your journey along the Danube, heading towards the picturesque Grein. This Baroque city will welcome you with its charming main square, adorned by historic houses with small turrets, and the elegant Rococo Theater, a wooden architectural jewel, carefully preserved within the town hall.

Day 5: Grein - Wachau Valley (70 km)
After breakfast, departure by bike through the impressive landscapes of Strudengau and Nibelungengau, traveling a stretch of the Danube characterized by a narrow valley framed by towering rock walls up to 400 meters high. Above you, the remnants of Struden Castle, witnesses of a rich and mysterious past, dominate the scene. Continuing, your journey will take you to the enchanting Wachau Valley, famous for its terraced vineyards that stand out harmoniously on the slopes, and picturesque villages. The route culminates in Melk, a memorable stop marked by the presence of the majestic Benedictine abbey. This masterpiece of Austrian Baroque art stands imposingly on a rocky spur, overlooking the Danube.

Day 6: Wachau Valley - Traismauer (40 km)
Today's stage will take you through a series of picturesque villages, each with its own charm. You will start with Weißenkirchen, then continue towards Spitz, where we suggest you take a relaxing walk to discover its hidden corners and welcoming atmosphere. After Spitz, the adventure continues to Dürnstein, famous for its picturesque ruins and historical castle. The day concludes in Traismauer. Here, you will have the opportunity to unwind in traditional taverns, immersing yourself in local specialties and savoring fine wines, the fruit of the land, and the passionate work of winemakers.

Day 7: Traismauer - Vienna (70 km)
You will follow one of the most famous stretches of the Danube cycling path, which will take you to Vienna, the Austrian capital that embodies imperial elegance, cultural richness, and love for music. Here, you will be spoilt for choice: from the grand royal palace to the majestic cathedral, art museums rich with treasures to historic residences, through lush gardens to prestigious theaters. The possibility to shorten this stage by taking a train.

Day 8: Vienna - Passau
After breakfast, transfer by train to Passau (bikes not included) and end of services. However, from April 27 to September 20, you can choose whether to do this by train or bus, in case you opt for the bus, bicycles are included.
