Description

Day 1: Individual arrival in Stockholm
Take a first stroll through Sweden’s capital and explore some of the many sights and tourist attractions.

Day 2: Stockholm – Södertälje (60 km)
Along Lake Mälar, Sweden’s third largest lake you cycle to UNESCO world cultural heritage Drottningholm Palace. Here, on the shore of the lake, the royal family grew up. Take your time to explore the beautiful palace as well as the Chinese Pavilion dating from the 18th century. You continue by a short ferry trip towards Södertälje. The small town and home of Scania is connected to the Baltic Sea through a lock in the Södertälje canal.

Day 3: Södertälje – Mariefred – Stockholm (45 km)
Today you will cycle on backroads up to Gripsholm Castle, which houses the National Portrait Collection: over 4000 works tracing the art of portraiture from 15th century to the present time. The castle dates back to 1370 when Bo Jonsson Grip built a fortress on a headland which, after several expansions, became the present building. In the evening, a steamship will take you back to Stockholm (about 3.5 hours); this ancient boat has been in operation since 1903 and if you wish you can also have dinner onboard (booking recommended). During the journey enjoy the superb view of the cliffs, forests, small villages and typical Swedish houses.

Day 4: Stockholm
After breakfast end of services
Possibility to extend your stay in Stockholm.
