Description

Day 1: Bad Wimpfen
Individual arrival in Bad Wimpfen. Boarding on the boat is scheduled from 4:00 PM. For those who arrive early, you can leave your luggage on board from 10:00 AM. You will spend this first night in the ancient spa town of Bad Wimpfen, renowned throughout Germany for its warm and salty revitalizing waters. The medieval-planned historical center is one of the most beautiful in the Neckar Valley. We suggest you spend some time exploring it; the Blauer Turm and the Steinhaus are worth a visit.

Day 2: Bad Wimpfen – Eberbach (45 km)
After the bike delivery, you will start your bike and boat tour heading towards Neckarzimmern, where you can decide whether to go up by bike or on foot for a visit to the beautiful Hornberg Castle. The itinerary then continues towards picturesque Eberbach, the final destination of the day, where you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this ancient Hohenstaufen town, strolling through the winding streets and squares of the center.

Day 3: Eberbach – Heidelberg (42 km)
First gem of the day will be Hirshhorn, also known as The Pearl of the Neckar Valley, located in a horseshoe-shaped bend on the Neckar river. From here your route will then cross the low mountain range of the Odenwald to reach Neckarsteinach. Passing through Ziegelhusen, you will then enter Heidelberg, where you will find your boat waiting for you. The city of Heidelberg attracts tourists from all over the world, thanks to the magnificent Castle, the Old Bridge on the Neckar, the Philosophers’ Way, the winding alleys of the old town, the many market squares and countless beautiful churches. Once in town, we suggest taking a walk in the historical center, or going to the castle.

Day 4: Heidelberg – Mannheim (25 km) | Mannheim – Nierstein by boat
After crossing the river, you can enjoy a stunning view of the city of Heidelberg and the magnificent castle. By bike, you will then pass through the Roman-origin town of Ladenburg to later reach Mannheim, where you will once again board for lunch and a navigation stretch up to Nierstein, the largest wine-growing area along the Rhine river and an important destination for wine tourism.

Day 5: Nierstein – Mainz (17 or 26 km)
Today you will cycle on picturesque bike paths along the Rhine river to Mainz, a Roman-origin city with a rich past. Take some time to explore its many churches, museums, and monuments; the main ones are the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Theatre, the Citadel and Gutenberg’s monument.

Day 6: Mainz – Rüdesheim (32 or 35 km)
After breakfast, you will cycle through the Rheingau wine region, where top-quality wines are produced from Riesling and Pinot Noir grapes, passing through the Rose village of Eltville and the picturesque Rüdesheim. Once you arrive, we recommend you take a stroll along the Drosselgasse, a beautiful street in the center where several magnificently restored historic buildings can be found. The boat will be moored for the night in Rüdesheim or Bingen.

Day 7: Rüdesheim – Boppard (46 km) | Boppard – Koblenz by boat
The last leg of your bike and boat tour will take you to cycle on the left bank of the river up to Boppard. Along the entire route, you will be immersed in breathtaking panoramas of the Middle Rhine Valley, a Unesco World Heritage Site, with castles, villages and the famous Lorelei Rock flowing beside you. In the afternoon, you will sail to Koblenz, where the Rhine meets the Moselle. You will finally spend the last night aboard in this fascinating city rich in history, an important defensive and trading center over the centuries. The main sights are the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress that dominates the right bank of the Rhine, the Alte Burg (old castle) dating back to the 13th century and of course the historical center.

Day 8: Koblenz
After breakfast, disembarkation by 9:00 AM.
