Description

Day 1: Amsterdam - Vianen by boat
After boarding at the Amsterdam pier at 1:00 PM (you can leave your luggage on board from noon), the boat will set sail for Vianan, a small fortified city on the Lek River.
In the late afternoon, bicycles will be delivered, and a brief test ride will take place.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 2: Vianen - Schoonhoven - Kinderdijk (35 miles) | Kinderdijk - Dordrecht by boat
After breakfast, you will pedal along a pleasant bike path to Schoonhoven, also known as the City of Silver.
You will then continue towards the Alblasserwaard polder and Kinderdijk Park, where you will be welcomed by an impressive row of 19 large, immaculately preserved windmills that were included in UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1997.
From the nearby Ablasserdam, you will take a fast water bus ferry, which will take you to Dordrecht, one of the oldest cities in Holland and a river traffic hub, in just 10 minutes.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 3: Dordrecht - Tholen by boat | Tholen - Kreekrak locks (12 or 22 miles) | Kreekrak - Antwerp by boat
The day begins with a beautiful sail to Tholen, from where the bike route starts and crosses the border between Holland and Belgium.
You will then cross the wooded area of Wouwse Plantage and head towards Bergen, stroll to the Kreekraksluis wind farm.
You will find the boat moored beyond the Kreekrak dam, where it will set sail for the vibrant city of Antwerp, a 16th-century trade hub between Europe and India; the extraordinary exchange of cultures over the centuries has made these places unique.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 4: Antwerp - Temse - Dendermonde (30 or 40 miles)
After breakfast, you will leave the port by bike, headed for the Schelde River. Following its unpredictable course (it is a tidal river) and riding the beautiful bike path lining it, you can enjoy magnificent views of one of the most beautiful natural sites on the tour.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 5: Dendermonde - Ghent (32 miles)
The bike route continues along the Schelde River towards Ghent, a lively university city with a significant past, founded by the Romans at the confluence of the Leie and Schelde Rivers.
In the afternoon, you can visit the city or, why not, do some shopping. Ghent's excellent location ensured great prosperity through the centuries, culminating between the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th. The St Bavo's Cathedral was built in different periods and styles; inside you can find several artworks from the medieval period, such as the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by Jan van Eyck.
The boat will be anchored at a lock on the outskirts of Ghent.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 6: Ghent - Bruges (28 miles)
The bike stage will lead you through the beautiful Flemish countryside towards Bruges, also known as the Venice of the North, due to the numerous canals winding through its historic center. Its old center, which has come down to us virtually intact, dates back to the Middle Ages, a time when the city was a large center of art and trade. The beautiful buildings are a remarkable testimony to this glorious past.
But Bruges is also the city of chocolate, so don't forget to pop in (and sample) its many chocolate shops.
Dinner not included on board of Premium boats.
Overnight stay on board.

Day 7: Circular stage around Bruges to the North Sea (24 or 32 miles)
The last bike stage follows a tranquil canal along the river, lined by poplars, and with a wonderful view of small rural houses, it will lead you to the North Sea coast. Once there, you can choose one of the long sandy beaches for a swim, or relax in one of the many cafes while enjoying the beautiful view of the dunes.
Return to Bruges along a picturesque canal.
Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 8: Bruges
Breakfast on board and disembarkation by 09:30 AM.

Given the nature of this tour and the features of the terrain, the itinerary may be subject to changes due to weather conditions or opening times of locks and drawbridges. The guide and the captain can decide day by day if and how to modify the tour.

Depending on the boats used, the opening of the locks, and the confirmed docking points along the route, the length of the daily stages can also vary by up to 9 miles, while maintaining the total miles covered in the week-long journey. Those who wish can always decide to stay on board.
