Abruzzo Bike To Coast in autonomy

Day 1: San Benedetto del Tronto (part of the Adriatic Cycle Route)
Arrival in San Benedetto del Tronto at our hosting hotel from 3:00 pm. Meeting with the guide, briefing and bike testing. You can visit the city center and the Palm Riviera, tasting an ice cream on the seafront. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: San Benedetto del Tronto – Roseto degli Abruzzi (47 km; +/- 200 m)
We will depart from San Benedetto del Tronto (Adriatic Cycle Route) through the Sentina Nature Reserve (first dirt road section), a landscape of water and sand that stretches for about 180 hectares within the municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto, between the town of Porto d'Ascoli in the north and the Tronto river in the south. After crossing the Tronto river, we will arrive at the zero point of the Abruzzi Bike To Coast, in the province of Teramo. Here the Abruzzo cycle path begins, which will allow us to visit Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto lido, Giulianova, and Cologna beach. Here we go into the Borsacchio Reserve that protects the pristine beauty of the area, preserving all aspects of integrity of the Abruzzi sandy coast, with its embryonic dunes of halophyte vegetation and patches of Mediterranean scrub. We will stop for a tasting in a cellar before arriving at Roseto degli Abruzzi at our hosting facility. The dinner will theme with the location. Overnight stay.

Day 3: Roseto degli Abruzzi – Francavilla al Mare (40 km; +/- 154 m)
Today we will pedal on the Bike To Coast in the magnificent pine forest of Pineto and in the splendid Marine Park of the Cerrano Tower. In the Teramo section, between the municipalities of Pineto and Silvi, the marine area delimits seven kilometers of coast and completes a program of environmental protection and enhancement alongside the network of underwater oases that have allowed the safeguarding, repopulation, and study of the marine ecosystem in recent years. After the visit, we will leave the province of Teramo and enter the province of Pescara, crossing Montesilvano and Pescara. Overcoming the Sea Bridge, we will arrive at Francavilla al Mare, where we will stay. Pizza party and beer before the overnight stay.

Day 4: Francavilla al Mare – Fossacesia (35 km; +/- 558 m)
We start again heading south. We will cross the vast territory of the province of Chieti, along the coast, visiting Ortona with the Aragonese castle. We will return to the sea from the Acquabella reserve and we could also visit the Canadian Cemetery, located on the Gustav line during the Great War. The maze of tunnels starts peeking out and we get to San Vito Chietino, the gateway to the Trabocchi Coast. From here we start seeing these old fishing huts suspended over the sea. We will continue admiring the sea and the surrounding hills to venture along the Teatina coast to Fossacesia. The evening reserves a dinner on a Trabocco, a real culinary experience. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Fossacesia – Vasto (39 km; +/- 340 m)
We are inside the Trabocchi Coast and, after the evening dinner that allowed us to understand better what the Trabocchi represent for these areas, we will start this last day of biking along the Abruzzo Bike To Coast heading south. The most suggestive part of the entire route arrives. Here we get to the Reserves of Punta Aderci and Punta Penna, this is where the ground returns to dirt, in the middle of the vegetation on the sea. Here it seems like being on the coast of Scotland, with views overlooking the sea that make this last day magical. We will pass in front of the historic Trabocchi of the coast up to the Gulf of Vasto, where our tour ends overlooking first the Ambling Lodge, from where on clear days, Tremiti can be seen. We will visit the old village with castles, churches, views and splendid palaces (D 'Avalos). Overnight stay in the village. Dinner not included: we recommend the Vasto-style fish soup at Gulf fashion.

Day 6: Vasto/San Salvo
After breakfast, end of services. Individual departure to respective destinations.
