Description

Day 1: Brig
Individual arrival in Brig and hotel accommodation. In the evening you can visit the World Nature Forum, in the nearby village of Naters, base camp of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Day 2: Brig – Sion (60 km)
The main valley of the Valais widens and the sun warms the rocky slopes of the mountains. Between Leuk and Sierre, you will leave the Rhone to venture amongst the vineyards until you reach a winery. After a wine tasting, you will proceed to the castles of Sion.

Day 3: Sion – Martingy (30 km)
Let Sion, capital of the Canton of Valais, with its historical castles, churches and palaces captivate you. The Lower Rhone Valley here is dominated by the alpine scenery of the Dents du Midi. You will then cycle through lush orchards and vineyards, to reach Martigny.

Day 4: Martigny – Vevey/Montreux (50/60 km)
A cylindrical tower dominates Martigny from above. At the narrowest point of the valley, on a bend in the river, between the Abbey dedicated to St. Maurice and the Rhone, stands St-Maurice, guardian of ancient treasures. From here you will continue between high mountains and plains, until you reach Lake Geneva, hidden behind the reeds and the suggestive Chillon Castle that rises from the lake waters.

Day 5: Montreux/Vevey – Nyon and surrounding areas (40-65 km)
Lake Geneva presents itself as a small silver sea, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and terraced vineyards, like those of Lavaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will cycle along the banks of the Rhone and, on your route, you will encounter Vevey, Montreux and the metropolis of Lausanne, nerve center of the population of Vaud.

Day 6: Nyon – Geneva (30 km)
Above terraced vineyards of La Côte and further down, lakeside, you will encounter the market towns of Morges, Rolle, and Nyon. Cosmopolitan Geneva will welcome you with its boulevards and its 140 meter high water jet.

Day 7: Geneva
After breakfast, end of services. Opportunity to extend your stay in Geneva.
