Description

Day 1: Passau
Individual arrival in Passau, the city of three rivers, where the St. Stephen's Cathedral harbors the world's largest organ. If you have a chance, take advantage of going to see one of the concerts held there; it will offer you an unforgettable acoustic experience. Boarding at 4:00 PM, after which, you will set off for an initial sailing at sunset.

Day 2: Engelhartszell - Brandstatt (45 km)
Wake up to the aroma of the forest and freshly cut grass. Today, you will explore the untouched landscapes of the upper Danube Valley and the quiet villages nestled along its banks. The rustic inns you will find on your journey, smelling of freshly grilled fish served on a skewer according to tradition, will make you want to stop. At Schlögener Blick, don't miss the panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Schlögener Schlinge, which provides a breath-taking view of the extraordinary curve of the Danube.

Day 3: Brandstatt – Linz (26 km)
Breathe in the fresh countryside air today and by lunchtime, you will reach Linz, the capital of the Upper Danube Valley. This city is known for its lively cultural life and is full of theaters and museums. Its cathedral is the largest church in Austria. If you're a fan of technological innovations, don't miss the Ars Electronica Center, with its Future Museum.

Day 4: Mathausen – Grein (35 km)
A beautiful and varied bike path will lead you through the idyllic hinterlands of the Strudengrau region. You'll pass through the Celtic village of Metterkirchen, the Baroque monastery of Baumgartenberg, and the romantic ruins of Burg Clam Castle. In the medieval city of Grein, you can admire its Baroque facades, the impressive castle, and the oldest theatre in Austria. After a romantic sailing journey around the city and small villages, you will arrive, just like Princess Sisi did, in the City of Waltz.

Day 5: Tulln – Vienna (35 km)
Just before Vienna, set amid breathtaking scenery, is the Klosterneuburg Monastery. You can already see the dome of this baroque building, which dates back to the 20th century. Kahlenbergerdorf with its taverns is only a short hop from the shipping pier and is definitely worth a visit. After a relaxing walk among the vineyards, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Vienna. In the afternoon, there will be a city tour by bus to see the many famous attractions of the historic city center of the Austrian capital that can be visited by foot.

Day 6: Free day in Vienna
This day is entirely at your disposal to discover the Austrian capital, savouring the unique atmosphere of the old imperial city. You can explore it by bike or by bus (not included), visit St. Stephen's Cathedral, the grand Prater amusement park, or the Hofburg complex, which was the center of Austrian power for over six centuries. Don't miss a walk along the Ringstrasse, a long avenue lined with some of the most important buildings and monuments of the city: the National Theater (Staatsoper), parliament, the Burgtheater. In the afternoon, you'll have all the time to rest in one of the many Viennese cafes, and possibly attend an evening concert or a waltz in the Wiener Kursalon or in a typical venue (not included).

Day 7: Wachau Valley/ Krems – Melk (39 km)
Spend a wonderful day biking through the picturesque Wachau Valley, with its villages surrounded by terraced vineyards and apricot farms. One of the highlights of the day will be the charming town of Dürnstein, with its narrow streets. In Spitz, amidst the largest wine-growing area in the valley, you can taste the excellent Wachau wines.

Day 8: Passau
Enjoy the first sunrays, for one last time from the boat deck, before reaching Passau. Disembarkation around 11:00 AM. However, we recommend not booking trains departing before 12:00 PM.
