Day 1: Tallinn
Individual arrival in Tallinn and accommodation in hotel, where you will be given tour maps, with a detailed program and route description. At 6.00 pm you can join a guided tour of the city.
Day 2: Tallin – Lahemaa National Park – Sagadi (51 or 59 km) | by minibus (100 km)
After a short minibus transfer, your journey through the Baltic Republics by bike begins with a loop in Lahemaa National park, one of the last unspoiled regions of the Baltic coast. This National Park is paradise for nature lovers; there are extensive forests, marshes, lakes and waterfalls to explore. If you prefer wildlife to the landscape, you will be able to see moose, wild boar and over 220 bird species.
Day 3: Sagadi – Mustvee – Lake Peipsi – Tartu (50 km) | by minibus (160 km)
In the morning, transfer by bus to Mustvee, where you will start a pleasant bike ride along the shores of Lake Peipsi up to Varnja. Lake Peipsi is the forth largest lake in Europe, split in two by the Russian border; along the way, you will pass many fishing villages. You will reach your hotel after a bus transfer to Tartu, a historically important university town, founded in 1632.
Day 4: Tartu – Otepää – Sigulda (28 km) | by minibus (285 km)
After a short bus transfer to Otepää, a charming place with many lakes, your Baltic Republics bike tour continues through the so-called Estonian Switzerland, to begin to appreciate the surrounding environment. You will finish today's stage in Sangaste, famous for its romantic 19th century castle, built in the style of Windsor Palace. Transfer to Sigulda, in the Gauja River Valley. Along the way, you can stop at Cesis, to visit the medieval old town.
Day 5: Sigulda – Gauja National Park – Riga (17 km) | by minibus (50 km)
Leaving from Sigulda, you will cross the Gauja National Park enjoying a spectacular view along the path of the Gauja River, then you will pass by Gutmana cave, Turaida castle and the oldest Latvian church, Krimulda, built in 1205. In the afternoon, transfer to Riga, the Latvian capital, where a guided tour of the fascinating old town awaits you. After check-in at the hotel, you can explore the medieval Hanseatic city, famous for its Art Nouveau buildings.
Day 6: Riga – Jurmala – Riga (35 km) | by train (25 km)
Today you can freely explore Riga and its surroundings, with a bike path tour to reach Jurmala, a renowned Latvian resort, well known for its vast white sandy beaches, the curative properties of its mineral waters and mud. Enjoy swimming in the sea and try cycling along the beach – it's worth it! In the evening you can take a local train to get back to Riga (30 min; not included).
Day 7: Riga – Hill of Crosses – Klaipėda (32 or 42 km) | by minibus (290 km)
Transfer by minibus to the Lithuanian coast. Along the way, you will stop at the Hill of Crosses: an unforgettable sight of thousands of crosses on two small hills. You will start the cycle tour towards Klaipėda, on a beautiful cycle path, which is located along the Baltic Coast, in the regional coastal park. Along the way, you'll pass through Palanga, the renowned Lithuanian seaside resort. Enjoy a stopover here, where you can visit the famous Botanic Park, the Amber museum and the 470 m-long pier leading to the Baltic Sea. Overnight stay in Klaipėda.
Day 8: Klaipėda – Neringa Peninsula – Nida (57 km)
After breakfast, you will cross the lagoon by ferry (not included) and start cycling on a paved cycle path across the Neringa Peninsula, up to Nida: the most beautiful Lithuanian resort, famous for the impressive sand dunes, the Amber Gallery and much more. During the journey you can visit the Hill of Witches, which hosts almost a hundred wooden statues with monstrous features, inspired by Lithuanian legends and scattered along a trail in the woods. You can also admire a colony of grey herons and cormorants, explore the sand dunes on foot, swim in the Baltic Sea or simply relax and sunbathe on the golden beaches. Overnight stay in Nida.
Day 9: Nida – Curonian Lagoon – Kaunas (31 km) | by minibus (210 km) | by boat (14 km)
After breakfast, you will take a morning boat ride across the Curonian Lagoon (1h30); along the way, you can enjoy a splendid view of the sand dunes of the Neringa Peninsula. Then cycle to Ventė Cape, where you can visit a bird observatory and the 19th century lighthouse, in operation for over 100 years. In the afternoon, tour in the Nemunas river delta Regional Park and transfer by minibus, along the Nemunas river to Kaunas, passing through the 16th-17th century castles of Raudonė and Panemune. Overnight stay in Kaunas.
Day 10: Kaunas – Trakai – Vilnius (25 km) | by minibus (97 km)
After breakfast, transfer by minibus to the Lake Region, where you will start cycling through the picturesque countryside on gentle hills. You will arrive in Trakai, the ancient capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania: here, you can visit the famous 14th century Gothic castle, built on a small island in Lake Galvė. The tour ends with a short transfer to Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital for over 600 years. The Old Town is wonderful with many, splendid Baroque and classic buildings. This evening a guided tour of the city awaits you. Overnight stay in Vilnius.
Day 11: Vilnius
After breakfast, end of services. Possibility to extend your stay in Lithuania.
