Description

Day 1: Blois
Arrive independently in Blois. You'll have the opportunity to visit the Château, the perfect illustration of how French architecture evolved from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, and the beautiful historic center, complete with its typical cobbled streets, gardens, staircases, and churches.

Day 2: Blois – Amboise (40 km)
Following the cycling paths of the Pays des Châteaux network and passing through small villages, you will reach the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, which proudly overlooks the river. The cycling paths of the La Loire à Vélo will then lead you to the charming town of Amboise with its royal chateau, where the greatest kings of France and Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years.

Day 3: Amboise – Vouvray (48 km)
Today you will leave the banks of the Loire to reach the Vouvray area and its beautiful vineyards, surrounded by troglodyte houses and famous for the excellent white wines they produce. Along the route, you will also encounter some private Renaissance chateaux, such as the Château de Valmer, with its wonderful Italian gardens and the Château de Jallanges. Take advantage of your day among the vineyards to stop at one of the local wine producers, visit a typical tufa cellar, and treat yourself to a tasting of Vouvray.

Day 4: Amboise – Chenonceaux (42 km)
Today you will reach the magnificent Château de Chenonceau. The route will take you cycling through the Montlouis-sur-Loire vineyards and across the Cher valley, the river on which the famous Château de Chenonceau, the stage of rivalry between Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de' Medici, lover and wife of Henry II, is literally built on. The interiors of the castle are certainly the most surprising, but it's also worthwhile to take a walk in the castle gardens and relax under the immense trees of the park, lullabied by the murmur of the river telling you the secrets of the castle.

Day 5: Chenonceaux – Cheverny or Chitenay (40 or 55 km)
Cycling along the quiet banks of the Cher River, you will reach the medieval town of Montrichard. You then leave the Cher to immerse yourself in the vineyards of Touraine, passing through the small fortress of Fougères-sur-Bièvre, a perfect example of 15th-century local architecture. Today's stage ends in Chitenay, at a charming country inn, or in Cheverny, a stone's throw from the chateau.

Day 6: Beauregard and Sologne (47 km)
Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the Beauregard Château, famous for its portrait gallery. Your bike tour will then continue through the rich and mysterious Pays de Sologne, a region with magnificent landscapes of shady forests and ponds, small private chateaux hidden among the vineyards, and characteristic villages.

Day 7: Cheverny or Chitenay – Blois (40 or 50 km)
During this final bike stage, you will discover the famous, and sumptuously furnished, Château de Cheverny, before reaching the magnificent Château de Chambord, masterpiece of the French Renaissance. Built by the wishes of Francis I, with its 440 rooms it is the largest of the Loire chateaux.

Day 8: Blois
After breakfast, services end and independent departures throughout the day.
