By bicycle and sailboat between the Frisian Islands

Day 1: Enkhuizen
Individual arrival in Enkhuizen. Boarding from 2:00 PM near the center of the beautiful town of Enkhuizen and close to the railway station. Meet the skipper for a drink who will give you useful information about the itinerary, the boat, and life on board. In the evening, enjoy a pleasant walk in the historic center of Enkhuizen, formerly home to the Dutch merchant fleet. Overnight on board.

Day 2: Enkhuizen – Medemblik (24 or 37 km) | Medemblik – Den Over – Texel by boat
This morning, the first short stage by bike and sail along the coast of the Ijsselmeer and through the picturesque polder landscape to reach Medemblik awaits you. Once back on board, the boat will set sail for Den Oever. If the weather permits, in the evening the boat will cross the Wadden Sea to the Island of Texel, the largest of the Frisian Islands.

Day 3: Texel – circular tour from Oudeschild (40 or 46 km)
The island of Texel is a dream destination for all cyclists, thanks to a variety of landscapes, well-signed cycling paths, and picturesque villages. Our advice is to make a circular bicycle tour of the largest island in northern Holland, following the indications of the Thijsse-route (about 40 km), to visit some beautiful villages and reach EcoMare where many marine animals, especially seals, grey seals and porpoises that, injured, are taken care of until completely healed. At the port of Oudeschild, a traditional brewery awaits you.

Day 4: Island of Texel – Island of Terschelling (5 or 6 hours of navigation)
If the weather and tides are favorable today, the boat will set sail to reach another of the Frisian Islands: the island of Terschelling in the afternoon. We'll move among the sandbanks of the Wadden Sea and if you're lucky, you'll see seals resting on these banks. Arriving in Terschelling, you will be struck by the charm of picturesque villages scattered among the polders and dunes over its 30 km length. This evening dinner will not be served on board to allow you to explore the island: you can try a local restaurant (not included) or prepare a picnic.

Day 5: Island of Terschelling – Free day on the bike | Terschelling – Harlingen by boat
After a day of navigation, it's now time for a day dedicated to cycling. Terschelling has a lot to offer in terms of nature and culture: 70 km of bike paths and 4 beautiful villages. In the west part of the island is the largest of them offering shops and pubs. The Brandaris, the oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands, dating back to 1594, welcomes visitors from afar. A good relationship between humans and nature has produced a varied landscape here, which includes coastal lines, marshes formed by the low tide, and forests; in particular, the Boschplaat nature reserve hosts unique plant species, butterflies, and huge bird colonies. Back on board, you can enjoy some well-deserved relaxation while the boat, in the late afternoon, crosses the Wadden Sea towards Harlingen, the most important port city of the Frisian Islands.

Day 6: Harlingen – Franeker – Makkum (48 or 58 km)
Crossing Franeker, renowned for the Eise Eisinga planetarium, you will cross the beautiful green countryside and some villages to reach Makkum, on the eastern shore of Lake Ijssel. If you choose the longer option, you will also visit Bolsward, one of the ELEVEN TOWNS of the Frisian Islands.

Day 7: Makkum – Stavoren (32 or 49 km) | Stavoren – Enkhuizen by boat
Today you'll pedal from Makkum to Stavoren, choosing between a shorter route crossing Hindeloopen or a longer one that skirts some of the Frisian Island lakes, allowing you to discover a different type of landscape. From here, continue by boat to Enkhuizen.

Day 8: Enkhuizen
After breakfast, disembarkation within 09:30 AM and end of services.
