Description

Day 1: Amboise
The charming town of Amboise, built on the banks of the Loire and dominated by the Royal Castle, home to some of the most important rulers of France, is the starting point of your tour. Do not miss the chance to visit, in addition to the center and the castle, the manor of Clos Lucé where Leonardo Da Vinci, invited to court by King Francis I, spent the last three years of his life.

Day 2: Amboise – Montbazon (45 km)
Following the cycle paths of La Loire à vélo, you will cross the vineyards of Montlouis in whose cellars famous white wines are produced, also in sweet and sparkling versions. Once you reach the city of Tours, take some time to stroll through the streets of the historic center, without forgetting to stop by the beautiful Place Plumereau, a lively square framed by beautifully preserved traditional timbered houses. The itinerary then continues through the countryside of Touraine to the next chateau-hotel.

Day 3: Montbazon – Azay le Rideau – Montbazon (55 km)
After cycling along the picturesque "Indre à vélo" bicycle paths, let yourself be enchanted by its picturesque mills and the characteristic villages that dot the route immersed in the tranquility of the countryside. Continue then towards Azay le Rideau and its enchanting Renaissance castle located on an island in the Indre river. This castle, built between 1518 and 1527, has become one of the most famous in the Loire Valley.

Day 4: Montbazon – Chenonceaux (40 or 50 km)
Pedaling along the winding Indre river, through vineyards and small typical villages of Touraine, you will reach the Cher Valley and the very famous Chenonceau Castle, built dramatically right on the Cher river, rich in stories and legends that date back to the dispute between Diana of Poitiers and Catherine de' Medici, the mistress and wife of King Henry II, respectively.

Day 5: Chenonceaux – Cheverny (48 km)
You leave the village of Chenonceaux and reach the medieval village of Montrichard. The itinerary then continues through the vineyards of Touraine passing by Gué Péan Castle and the medieval village of Fougères sur Bièvre, a perfect representation of 15th century architectural art. A last beautiful stretch through the countryside and vineyards will allow you to reach the famous Cheverny Castle.

Day 6: Cheverny – Chambord – Cheverny (50 km)
Today's itinerary will lead you to discover the beautiful Sologne. You will first reach Villesavin Castle and then cross the magnificent forests and landscapes dotted with ponds typical of Sologne. You will thus reach Chambord Castle, the most spectacular of the Loire castles, an authentic masterpiece of French Renaissance, built at the behest of Francis who, despite the 440 rooms of the castle, stayed here only a few days.

Day 7: Cheverny – Amboise (50 km)
This last bike stage will take you to the beautiful town of Blois. Take a walk through the suggestive streets of the center where you can also find the magnificent castle, a perfect representation of how French architecture has evolved from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Then following La Loire à vélo, you will reach Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle with its incredible International Garden Festival. Finally, return to Amboise by cycling on the bike path between the Loire and the vineyards.

Day 8: Amboise
After breakfast, end of services and individual departure during the day.
