Description

Day 1: Amsterdam – Wijk bij Duurstede by boat
Individual arrival in the Netherlands to Amsterdam; embarkation between 1pm and 2pm (possibility to bring your luggage on board from 11am). At 2pm the boat will set sail for Wijk bij Duurstede, navigating the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal.

Day 2: Wijk bij Duurstede – Wageningen by boat | Wageningen – Arnhem (35 or 44 km)
During breakfast, you'll sail towards Wageningen. From here, you'll start the first leg of the bike tour through the flat valley of the Rhine: you'll ride through the heathlands of the Veluwe National Park, which within its 5,400 hectares is home to numerous species of animals and plants, as well as the Kröller-Müller Museum, the world's largest private collection of Van Gogh works (not included in the tour). You'll then continue cycling through suburbs and parks, proceeding through Sonsbeek and Zijpendaal; between Zijpendaal and Arnhem the boat will moor for the night.

Day 3: Arnhem – Doesburg by boat | Doesburg – Zutphen – Deventer (45 or 55 km)
Brief journey by boat up to the small Hanseatic city of Doesburg, where you'll commence the bike tour towards Zutphen and Deventer (one of the major Hanseatic cities in the Netherlands): choose between two options, a shorter one taking you along the banks of the IJssel up to Bronkhorst, the smallest Dutch city, and Zupthen; or alternatively the longer one passing through Vorden, enabling you to admire country estates, farms and castles. The final destination is Deventer, renowned for its delicious gingerbread. In the evening, take a brief stroll through the city.

Day 4: Deventer – Wijhe by boat | Wijhe – Kampen (44 or 56 km)
After a short boat trip to Wijhe, you'll start pedaling towards Hattem; those who wish may extend the biking route through the eastern part of Veluwe. Follow the route for the last few kilometers up to Zwolle, one of the most beautiful Hanseatic cities in the Netherlands. From Zwolle, you'll continue to Kampen. You have the option to participate in an evening guided tour of the largest of the Dutch Hanseatic cities.

Day 5: Kampen – Elburg – Harderwijk (48 km)
Today you'll move around the lake area to the fishing village of Elburg in the IJssel estuary, and along the lakeside to the fishing port of Harderwijk, where you still can breathe in its ancient history. Overnight stay in Harderwijk harbor.

Day 6: Harderwijk – Spakenburg – Huizen (45 or 56 km)
Choose your pace for today's tour: a brief ride along the coast or a longer alternative that will also take you into the nearby forested area. In the afternoon, you'll pass through Spakenburg, famous for its traditional costumes, still worn by some locals today. The final destination is Huizen.

Day 7: Huizen – Naarden – Muiden – Amsterdam (35 km)
From Huizen, you'll begin the last stage of your biking and boating journey through the Hanseatic cities of the Netherlands, heading towards the fortified cities of Naarden and Muiden. Muiden, in particular, is famous for its water castle. After leaving Muiden, you'll follow quiet roads to reach the outskirts of Amsterdam. The afternoon is free for you to explore the capital at your leisure.

Day 8: Amsterdam
After breakfast, end of services.
