Description

Day 1: Amboise and Montlouis (33 km)
Pedaling among the vineyards of Montlouis, you will reach the Grande Aquarium of Turenne and the magnificent Castle of Bourdaisière, surrounded by a large park. On your way back to Amboise you can visit the Manor of Clos Lucé, where Leonardo Da Vinci spent the last three years of his life.

Day 2: Chenonceaux (43 km)
Once you have crossed the forest of Amboise, you will reach the famous Castle of Chenonceau, dramatically built over the river Cher and setting of the famous rivalry between Diana de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici, respectively mistress and wife of the king Henry II.

Day 3: Vouvray (48 km)
Today you will leave for a moment the banks of the Loire to venture among the picturesque vineyards of the Vouvray area, surrounded by the famous troglodyte houses and known for the fine white wines they produce. Along the route you can also admire some private Renaissance castles, like the castle of Valmer, with its wonderful Italian-style gardens, and the imposing castle of Jallanges. Finally, you will have the opportunity to stop at one of the local producers for a tasting of Vouvray.

Day 4: Chaumont-sur-Loire (45 km)
Following the winding lanes that will lead you to cycle on the banks of the Loire, you will reach the Castle of Chaumont-sur-Loire, built in the 15th century on a rocky spur above the Loire. In addition to the castle and the stables, don't miss the extraordinary Festival des Jardins, which takes place from May to mid-October, within the Domaine. Individual departure at the end of the excursion or possibility to book an extra night in Amboise.
